NCCA Healthcare Professionals Annual Training Conference: Bridging Health Care from Corrections to Community

August 16-18 in Asheville, NC


This conference is for individuals who provide services for the incarcerated population in prisons, jails, or communities and includes custody, probation and parole, and healthcare professionals.

This year's conference theme, "Bridging Health Care from Corrections to Community," will include interactive discussions and updates on improved services and quality care for medical, dental, mental health and other healthcare services. Speakers will discuss how to identify appropriate pre-release interventions that can assist in improving public health and criminal justice outcomes of offenders who are being released into the community setting. Interventions discussed will include programs to assist with mental illness, addiction, and medication assistance. Topics include ACA changes and how they will affect prisons, purchasing of new medications for an offender, and accessing care through non-contact appointments in the correctional environment.

Day 1 - Wednesday, August 16th - 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Day 2 - Thursday, August 17th - 7:00 a.m. until 5:15 p.m.

Day 3 - Friday, August 18th - 7:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
